The Hathaways // Lauren and Cora

Today I spent some time with these two beautys. One reason I love film so much- I didnt edit these. No color or light correction. I also took digital today, and I didn't even love them once I got these back.  They also have there slight imperfections, due to me learning I need to also check the back of my Minolta. I get a little light spot when the tape falls off (tape? Yeah... a little rough. Working on getting that fixed).

There is bread and salt between us.

Blake and I were lucky enough to be invited to an intimate dinner with Chef Josh Lewin of a Bistro in Boston, MA. He was out here for a few days, and really is the nicest person. You can just feel generosity and passion spilling out of him. The menu was of course, to die for. I am not a cook myself, but that all the more makes me appreciate expertise such as his.

Josh found me through the Kinfolk website, and I once again, am so grateful for the people I have met through doing that dinner. Honestly, it attracts the kind of people you not only want to work with, but the kind of people you want to be friends with.

While Josh was traveling through the middle east, he became very familiar with an Arabic phrase 'baynatna khubz wa milah', which translates to 'there is bread and salt between us'. It refers to although there is much strife in the world, there is an enduring bond between people who have sat and shared a meal together.

Here is to Josh, and here are a few photos I snagged when things were winding down.

My friend Rachel // Part II

Rachel is my new friend here in Chicago. I asked her if I could take pictures of her in her adorable home. Rachel is a pretty adorable homemaker if I must say so myself, she would never say so, which makes you love her all the more. Before I came over she was making some bread to go into the oven. I asked if she would wait until I got there so I could take a few pictures of it. We plan to do another shoot with the finished product.

Here is to Rachel.

This is Chicago.

A bit ago, it was snowing like crazy, and I actually decided to still leave my apartment. I took these with my little Minolta friend, I developed them at Wallgreens. That building is the Chicago Tribune. Its one of my favorites in the city, especially because I love the story behind it.
